JACK’S BELLY PANTAI INDAH KAPUK (PIK)

Another new restaurant in PIK, Jack’s Belly. This area is already filled with places to eat, from Korean BBQ to dessert. Does it need more? Quite doubtful, buy hey we always look up for new places that can offer something different. Located at the less crowded Elang Laut, just few shops away from Bakso Aan. Find out that this place have some beers, OK so it’s gonna be ‘tempat nongkrong’ for young people. More, here are some of the food that I tried earlier.

Roasted John Dory Fish (IDR 99.000) served with sides of your choice, I got mashed potato and coleslaw. Fish was nice, big portion, crispy crumbs and squeezed of lemon juice to bring out the flavor. Honestly I prefer tartar sauce as a condiment rather than gravy though mashed potato was good for me. You know, I love potatoes.

Everyone’s favorite Pizza Meatlover (IDR 85.000) super thin crust pizza, tomato sauce the base. For sharing, New York Sampler (IDR 70.000) consists of sausages, chicken wings, calamari, and potato chips. It came with 3 kind of sauces, chopped onion-tomato sauce, tartar, and mustard. Personally, I like all of the sauces, preferably of course tangy mustard. Calamari was the highlight, super tender squid, crispy batter, so good!

Deng-Galbi, Back Ribs with Cheese (IDR 180.000) served in a hot plate with corn and fried potatoes on bed of melted cheese, delightful! Smoky yet very tender ribs covered with sweet and spicy sauce, salad with sour and salty soy sauce dressing is included.

Hot Stone Bibimbap (IDR 75.000) with additional egg or cheese (+IDR 10.000). There are three options to choose as topping, char-grilled beef bulgogi, chicken teriyaki, or tofu (vegetarian). I went for beef bulgogi bibimbap with additional fried egg. Let me give you tips about how to enjoy bibimbap, do not mix it right away but leave for a while so the rice will get crispy on the bottom, really it’s the best part.

The Best Sashimi Maguro In Cambodia

There’s nothing better than Corn Tea when having Korean meals. The taste that always reminds me back to the days when I was in Seoul. It’s probably a little weird for first timer but trust me you’ll love it. Another option to savor Korean dishes instead from Korean BBQ places, you won’t end up with smelly shirt anyway.

Sashimi Maguro (Tuna), delicate sliced of pink tuna best to be dipped in shoyu, do not forget the wasabi. When eating raw fish, wasabi is a must condiment because people said that it’s effective in suppressing microbes and bacteria that can cause poisoning.

Hamachi Kama Shio – yellow tail grilled with salt. Gindara Mentaiyaki – grilled cod fish (https://breadandwaterwi.com/) with cod roe sauce. Both were lovely, but the grilled cod got me. Tangy cod roe sauce is one under the spotlight, well-matched the grilled cod.

Miyagi Maki – egg omelette with cheese homemade sauce, salty and savoury sushi roll with egg and crab stick in it. I believe that it suites to everyone’s tongue.

Spicy Baked Salmon Maki – salmon, crunchy tempura, chili oil, and mayonaise. The presentation was very nice, even better it was really tasty. Combination of baked salmon and crunchy tempura flakes inside of nori-rice roll that coated with green tobiko (flying fish roe).

Gyuniku Aburi Maki – half grilled beef roll, onion, and tonkatsu sauce. This one is the winner for me though most of friends did not like it because it has pickled radish in it. See, my taste bud is pretty unique and must say that it can accept pretty much anything.

In general the Miyagi Maki and Baked Salmon Maki are everyone’s favorite. Foods are impressive, good service, with affordable price. You could never go wrong with their sushi. Conclusion, it’s one to put on your list.
