ME AND MY BROTHER STYLE VIDEO GAME EXPERIENCE ! I had wanted to experience playing a fantasy RPG that had the visual style of Final Fantasy since I was a child, so I’ve been waiting to play it for a long time. This Tarnished was released! I’ve been playing it for about 2 weeks now, and I actually only finished the first story arc today (since Episode 4 came out). The first thing that surprised me was how beautifully designed the monster skills were. You could clearly understand what they were supposed to be doing. The dialogue was crisp and easy to understand, too. Compared to other fantasy RPGs that I’ve played, Tarnished had a really high level of clarity. Secondly, I really enjoyed the opening scene for the game, where you’re walking down a road in bright sunlight and your spirits raise. After a bit of gameplay, you get attacked by monsters and struggle to survive. I could sense the difficulty of the game from the beginning. The graphics were also very impressive. As the game played, the graphics and backgrounds would slowly change, and there were a lot of times where the foreground would be cut off and you would end up seeing a background with very low definition. This was a drastic contrast to the Final Fantasy games that I’ve played in the past, and I couldn’t help feeling impressed by how awesome the graphics were. However, the cinematic that plays between each level was a bit too overbearing, especially in Episode 4. I definitely enjoy the gameplay of Tarnished, but I was a bit disappointed by the cinematics. After seeing that, I thought to myself, “Man, the music. What about the music?” The music in Tarnished is so cool! There are a couple songs that are playing while you’re running down a road, for example, and the music has a very modern and pop-sounding rhythm that will definitely get your adrenaline pumping. The arrangement of the music is also very impressive. The fighting scenes are also really exciting, but it seems like there is a lack of variety. It’s similar for the same enemy no matter how many times you see it. I felt that the variation would’ve been nice, and at times, it can even feel kind of repetitive. I also felt like the enemy actions were too similar to each other, too, and it was sometimes difficult
